Think again

I've been meaning to blog for the longest time ever but I couldn't find the right time, or the right words to express the things that have been going on inside my head. Now that I am done with Trials(SPM), I feel like a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Not for long, though, not for long. SPM itself is in less than 6 weeks. Yikes!

Can't believe I didn't blog about Raya, not that it was super-exciting or anything considering I only got to spend the whole of Syawal in KL, while Mom and baby brother got to fly back to our hometown! It hit me though, that Raya isn't as fun as it used to be. I guess this is how it feels like.. growing up. The usual Selamat-Hari-Raya-salams, too turned into Good-Luck-for-SPM wishes.

First day of Syawal: went to Grandmama's place to meet up with the extended fam, asked for forgiveness from everyone and then off to Great-grandmama's to meet more(and more..) family members. As always. Nothing extraordinary happened except for the fact that I didn't see this one farmiliar face. And that particular person is a relative of mine. A young boy. We're not even close, it's just that I see him at every family gathering. Turns out he had to go to work, yeap, on the first day of Syawal. No big deal right -- that's how life is.

The very next week -- trials had just started; the night before my Math paper, around 11.30 p.m. to be exact, I was feeling thirsty so I decided to go downstairs to get a glass of water(I rarely do so, since I get really lazy to go up and down the flights of stairs) but I did anyway. It was weird that my parents were both downstairs, still up -- way past their bedtime(or maybe not, I'm not sure). That was when my mother asked me if I had heard "the news". I replied no instantly, in oblivion and was itching to know what was really going on! I was then told that my 19-year-old-relative, whom I did not get the chance to see during Raya, and whose face was farmiliar to me, had just passed away in an accident. I stood there standing like a fool for a minute or so, speechless, trying to figure out if my parents were pulling a prank on me. Oh how I wish they were. My instant reaction was just "oh. Innalillah." Went to the kitchen, got myself a glass of water and sat down. That was when my tears wouldn't stop falling. I mean, he was only 19 years old, still very very young. My brother's age. Just 2 years older than me. Hasn't even gotten the chance to live and now he's gone. I wouldn't go into the way he died, it was tragic and that'd never fail to make me start crying. And the last time I saw him? During Arwah Opah Amy's funeral. Who would've known that his would be next? One thing I know for sure is, God has better plans for him.

So my conclusion is; no matter how big your dreams are, or how you think you have it all planned out, think again. Life can be taken away from you just about any time. Be at wrong place at the wrong time and then that's it. Oh, and please becareful on the road. I'm sure everyone would say they're a good driver, but too bad other people aren't.

Ashne, Shai, Sin Yin and I were at the field, talking about prom while waiting for Shalini to prepare us a dialogue for our class' graduation video. (Don't mind us, we speak rojak Eng-Malay)

Sin Yin : I don't want to come lah. What if it's boring? (she says this ALL the time)

Me : Eh suka hati you lah -__-

Sin Yin : Woahhh eh you're supposed to promote/ convince me that it's not boring !!

Shai : Dah habis tu you nak dia cakap apa? Dia tolong organize je, benda belum jadi pun how'd she know if it's boring or not

Hahhahahahhahhahahha meet my chinese friend Sin Yin (smarty pants alert). She's planning to study/work in Hong Kong and promised that she'd fly us alllll to Hong Kong when she's successful in the future hehe god bless my classmates! Good (but tiring.. thanks to community service) day indeed :-)

Farewell

PRS Farewell for us seniors last Saturday were surprisingly good, much much better than I had expected, better than last year's. It's a bit late, but oh well.

It was a rainy Saturday evening. Rahmat daripada-Nya, I suppose :-) All 11 of us gathered in school at about 6.15pm, waiting for the "Mouse" to arrive. (The theme was Alice in Wonderland). Everyone was happy when "it" finally arrived, in a silver alphard. I'm pretty sure everyone had thought that it was OUR ride.... except it wasn't. Hahahahaha. About 10 minutes later, a van came. Van Persiaran, to be precise. Everyone's jaws dropped but oh well, the seniors from the previous batch went through it, so why couldn't we! The venue was supposed to be a surprise, but the van driver accidentally mentioned about where we're heading. The 2 juniors( Nadiah & Hanna) were the ones who took us, they kept their mouth shut the whole way. They even blindfolded us!

After a while, we finally arrived at the venue. Our faces were covered in a hat the juniors put on us and they gave us all a bouquet of flowers! (We couldn't see it by then, but could smell and feel). They made all 11 of us stay in a line, hand in hand. Counted to three for us to take off the hats and then sprayed us with confetti's! Waited for Maghrib to come, and the good thing was that us seniors got to take our food first! Hehehe. Everything & everyone was so sweet that night, I swear. They also made us each a cardboard where each of them had signed, wrote really nice and sweet things to us! Baby Angel & Guardian Angel was revealed there and then, too. I sort of guessed who my G.A. was (can't blame myself for being intuitive :p) though. Too bad I couldn't really get-to-know my baby angel. :-(

Birthday girls; Hanis & Nurul

Happy 17th birthday to my Leo babies Hanis & Nurul!

Last night, my girlfriends and I planned a surprise buka puasa/ birthday dinner for Hanis & Nurul at Hanna's place. Well, I wouldn't say they were surprised 'cause Hanis here picks up things really fast! Sheesh. We prepared gifts for the two girls, balloons, cakes, pasta, baked potatoes from +Wondermilk, and buffalo wings from Chili's! Since it's the fasting month, we decided to recite the yasin together after Maghrib prayers and then Isha' and terawih. It felt really nice, so we're planning to do this every Saturday night (Friday) :-D We'll see what happens next week.. I hope this thing really goes on hehe.

It got me thinking, though -- this is our Senior year of high school, which means a year from now (or less), each and every one of us will be off chasing our dreams.. everyone would be busy and we won't get to see each other often! How sad is that !?! I mean, I see these people every day in my life and I can't believe that's all gonna change in a few months time when we're done with school !! Okay I don't want to think about this anymore, the future is a scary place!

Anyway, PRS farewell party for us seniors' tonight! The theme is "Dress to Wonderland" (Alice???) I've never watched that movie so I've no idea how it's like! Any ideas on what to wear ?? /Sigh Hope it's gonna be fun! I mean, it better be !!! ;-)

It was about 4 in the evening when mom called from the office to remind that I've got my monthly dentist appointment tonight (yes, I still need mom to remind me of my appts). I was on my bed, sleeping, duh. That's what we all do when we get home from school. Nap, no? Nap is an essential component for me to survive in a day. So, people (friends, family) around me who knows me well enough would know that it's best not to disturb me around 3-5pm. So when mom reminded me about the appointment, I could literally hear my tummy saying "Oh no! I wouldn't have enough time for buka puasa in order to reach the dentist in time since my appointment is at 8.45 and it normally takes around 45 mins to get there because of the traffic" So then .. my tummy started making weird noises to show it's disapproval, of course, but what choice do I have? When I set my appointment date and time last month, it didn't occur to me that this month would be the fasting month, everything passed by so fast I swear! Not to mention that I only have approx. 31 days to trials and 100 days to SPM. Yes. Just 100 days to be used wisely. Okay I should not go there, really.

I continued sleeping for another hour, woke up, took a shower and waited for Maghrib to come. In between, I decided to actually put a little bit of make up on since I haven't touched them for a while. That's when my primer, tinted moisturiser and compact powder comes in. I've been using my Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer for a while and I don't intend to stop using it any time soon. It makes my skin look and feel so much better when applied with my HG Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturiser (can't live without it!). I'm blessed with a good complexion (most of the time), so I don't really need foundation. Besides, I hate how my face looks like with foundation on. I normally dust a little bit of powder on my T-zone to control the oil. So far, Chanel Mat Lumiere has been good to me. No complains :-) What ticked me was that I couldn't find my Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil (shows how long I haven't gone out..), so I had to go out with my non-existent brows. Won't happen again in the future !!!

And off I go with mom and little brother. Went to eat at Citta after the appointment, since it's just 5mins away from home, thank God. The traffic here is horrible. No pictures; was too busy fulfilling my tummy's wishes hehe happy fasting everyone!

Stay ahead

Today was -- fine. Can't say it was completely unproductive. Us form 5s are currently having a seminar/motivational talk in school which will be going on for the whole week in the library(thank god it's air conditioned). So far, the first two days have been entirely useless as I couldn't get any seats in front. Had to sit in one of the last few rows; couldn't concentrate; fell asleep instantly. On the bright side, went for lunch w Hanna and Hanis. A.K.A my pigging out buds. And off we went for add maths tuition in the evening. I am so blessed to have a really patient tutor. He's a genius, too! God bless you, Mr. Johny :*

Need to work 100x harder, though. At the rate I'm going, I doubt I'd be getting my straight As. Need to push myself. Need to get motivated. Need to get inspiration. Patience & Perseverance (which of course happens to be the two of the most difficult things to embrace).

Oh and it just hit me that TRIALS IS IN A MONTH !!!!!

Good morning, saturday! Woohoo guess who's done with mid terms? ;) Anyways, last Monday night, we had a surprise birthday celebration dinner for my two gems, Lisa & Sarah. It was nice, every single one of us was there except for.. Lilo. The last time everyone gathered like that was.. oh wait, I can't remember. SPM, PLEASE BE OVER SOOON !!! March Break

Guess who's back from a super long hiatus? :} It's about 10 in the morning and I'm already up, I don't quite have anything to do today 'cause it's Saturday, therefore I decided I should blog. I'm posting up some pictures from my trip to London in March, it was sort of a sudden trip, a getaway, mother-daughter bonding session, as my father and brother(s) couldn't join us. Anyway, what saddens me the most is the fact that I unintentionally deleted our pictures from the last day from my memory card. Tried every software in the internet and still nothing could be retrieved.

Madame Tussauds day

The changing of guards in front of Buckingham Palace. It was our 4th day I think and I didn't bother putting on any make up, hence the dry and dull looking skin. Oh well, this is how I really look everyday.

The weather was excruciatingly cold and my mom made me stand in the park just so she could take a picture of me! This is the Green Park btw.

Second last day at Bicester Village. Gotta thank Harris for making me catch the train all the way there! It was great.
